Concentric Educational Solutions is expanding its footprint in Maryland.

CES is partnering with Montgomery County Public Schools to implement its Home Visit Frameworkin an effort to re-engage students who have either dropped out or trending towards being chronically absent.

Montgomery County Public Schools is the 14thlargest school district in the United States and the largest district in Maryland.

Montgomery County schools have seen an increase in high school dropout rates since 2014 – particularly among its Latino student population.

According to a recent study by the University of Maryland School of Public Health, dropout rates for Latino students have increased since 2014 in Montgomery County, rising from 11.1 percent to 13.8 percent.

Graduation rates among the student population have also dipped from 80 percent to 78.5 percent.

“We are excited to be working with Montgomery County Public Schools’ leadership to identify, address and overcome the barriers impacting a segment of their students,” said Dr. David Heiber, the founder and CEO of Concentric.

CES is implementing its framework throughout the next three years in Montgomery County.

The framework includes a tiered approach to home visits based on individual student results.

In addition to Maryland, CES has worked with schools and large districts throughout the country including in Michigan, New Jersey, North Carolina and Louisiana.

Overall, CES’ Home Visitation Specialists have conducted more than 50,000 home visits.
